Hi,

Likewise congrats on a great manual but I also have a problem. I am running openLDAP on Windows XP Pro (sp3). My server is up and running properly as I can browse it using LdapAdmin. I also have my PHP set up properly because I can write custom PHP pages to interact with the LDAP server (browse, edit, delete, etc). Unfortunately in Squirrel mail I get the following error:

Error initializing LDAP server [my domain name]: [my name] Success

What is confusing is that the initialization fails but then it says success. In any case it doesn't work because I don't see any addresses.

My config is simple since the server has anonymous access. Thus, it contains only 3 array elements (host, name, and base. The squirrel mail version I am running is 1.4.19 and PHP is 5.3. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
John

Hi there. First of all, thanks for the nicely written howto.
I'm trying to activate global addressbook through active directory running on Windows 2000 server. I followed your steps but when I get to check the addressbook I'm getting "no persons match your search" message. Also, I can see in the addressbook popup that I do not have any LDAP server list to search in after the "search for" field. Seems that Squirremail is not talking to the LDAP server. The server (running CentOS 4.6) lists all users when querying the LDAP server using "wbinfo -u".
I've used cn=user, dc=company,dc=com for winbind and also user@company.com and company\user with identical results. Any help or pointer will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi mr.jake,

Sorry, that is not possible. You need to edit the PHP source code, not the HTML output.

Hi mr.jake,

You can edit the login page and inbox page but it would be difficult to do. You must change the php squirrelmail code to do that.
