As I hear good info about Scientific Linux, I would like to know if this distro will work with setting up a mailserver with the described site here. SC is much faster in bringing out the updates. And they are the same as CentOS/Red Hat. At the moment they are on 6.1, while CentOS is still 6.0. They are saying themself:

The base SL distribution is basically Enterprise Linux, recompiled from source.

Our main goal for the base distribution is to have everything compatible with Enterprise, with only a few minor additions or changes. Examples of items that were added are Alpine, and OpenAFS.

Hi,

Yes, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS and Scientific Linux will work using the guides from this website. Just make sure you use Scientific Linux packages when installing from external repositories since SL is not binary compatible with RHEL/CentOS.
