Hi guys,

 

i'm starting to learn linux, how to i separate the mail server and the mail agent ?

i'm refering this http://flurdy.com/docs/postfix/ to set up my mail server however, it does not show how to separate the mail server and mail agent.

Hi kohdesmond,

 

It looks like you are storing your user accounts in MySQL. If that's the case, just store the mailbox somewhere accessible to both the mail transfer agent and mail delivery agent.

Hi, thanks for the reply, i actually need to configure a mail router on the DMZ and the actually mail server in the internal network.

 

i'm using ubuntu 10 in VM enviroment

Check out Postfix SMTP Gateway Its for RHEL/CentOS though so you need to do the necessary adjustment for Ubuntu.
