Hi All,

I installed MailScanner.

rpm can find it as installed:

rpm -qa mailscanner
mailscanner-4.81.4-1

But I can't start it:

/sbin/service start mailscanner
start: unrecognized service

And I can't add it:

/sbin/chkconfig –add mailscanner
error reading information on service mailscanner: No such file or directory

Where did it go?

Any ideas?

Hi All,

Used rpm to uninstall mailscanner.noarch

Used the install.sh script in the mailscanner folder to reinstall.

It wanted compilers, so I added those. The script ran, and ran, and ran.

When it was done, I still have the same problem.

service does not recognize mailscanner.

chkconfig does not recognize mailscanner.

 

Any ideas:

OK, you couldn't figure it out.

 

I'll tell you.

 

/sbin/service mailscanner gets you nowhere.

/sbin/service MailScanner gets you somewhere.

 

Duh.
