Hi guys,

I just wanted to confirm whether these features can be configured in postfix with ldap authentication

1.Stop getting a mail
from specific email ID

2.Stop sending mail to
specific ID Internal external ID

3.Sending mails to
Users using Distribution list ID

4.Restrict sending
mails to external domain based on hierarchy

ie having different levels in organisation

a.Top management full access to email

b.executives having access to few domain

c.different users different level access

5.Deactivate the Email
Account instead of delete

6.Global Address book

7.Option to create
multiple domain (similar to postfix with mysql)

8.If
email ID's is not active for more than 90 days, it has to be

deactivated automaticallyLaugh

Hi,

1.Stop getting a mail from specific email ID

2.Stop sending mail to specific ID Internal external ID

Postfix Restrict Senders or Recipients

3.Sending mails to Users using Distribution list ID

Postfix Active Directory Mailing List

4. Restrict sending mails to external domain based on hierarchy

If you can create an ldap map that fits your requirements, you can do it the same solution for 1 and 2

5.Deactivate the Email Account instead of delete

query_filter = (&(objectclass=person)(mail=%s)(active=1))

Replace active=1 with the condition you use to deactive an account

6.Global Address book

SquirrelMail Active Directory/LDAP Addressbook
Outlook 2003 LDAP Address Book

7. Option to create multiple domain (similar to postfix with mysql)

Yes but you won't have something like PostfixAdmin to easily manage it.

8. If email ID's is not active for more than 90 days, it has to be deactivated automatically

You need to create a script to automatically deactivate stale user accounts.

Consultant,

Which one do you suggest

To go with LDAP or with mysql. Out of curiousity whether can we combine both having both mysql and ldap…

It is easier with mysql since you'll have PostfixAdmin to manage it.

Consultant,

It would be nice if you can confirm among the 8 point whether all are possible in mysql from deactivation of unused email accounts

to  Restrict sending mails to external domain based on hierarchy

6. Only LDAP can support a global address book

8. You'll need a script to update the login timestamp to keep track of inactivity

The rest can be handled.
