Linux Mail Server Setup and Howto Guide

Hi,

i am trying to get dovecot to use my 389-directory server i followed the Active Directory/LDAP virtual users guide  but i get the following errors:

Oct 18 07:43:52 mail dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.7 starting up
Oct 18 07:43:52 mail dovecot: Auth process died too early – shutting down
Oct 18 07:43:52 mail dovecot: auth(default): LDAP: ldap_init() failed with hosts: ldap://server.hashab.com/
Oct 18 07:43:52 mail dovecot: child 9010 (auth) returned error 89

 here is my dovecot-ldap.conf ;

hosts = ldap://server.hashab.com/
base = dc=hashab,dc=com
ldap_version = 3
auth_bind = yes
pass_filter = (&(objectclass=person)(uid=%u))

my ldap server is running and accessable through the mail server.

any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
